Samsung Galaxy S21 ‘confirmed’ to come with S Pen support

NEW DELHI: Ever since the rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S21 series became rife, one particular rumour that was coming up, again and again, was that the Galaxy S21 series will come with the support of S-Pen, which will be a first for this flagship smartphone series.

Now, it appears that the same has been confirmed by the company’s President and Head of Mobile Communications Business T M Roh. In a press statement, Roh said, “We’ve also been paying attention to people’s favourite aspects of the Galaxy Note experience and are excited to add some of its most well-loved features to other devices in our lineup.”

While Roh hasn’t mentioned S-Pen explicitly, it appears to be a clear indication of this feature only. For those unaware, it has been speculated that only the Galaxy S21 Ultra — which is going to be the top-end smartphone for the Galaxy S21 series — is going to offer support for a stylus and the other two expected models Galaxy S21, S21+ will be standard models.

Other than this, Roh also emphasised that in 2021, the smartphones from the South Korean tech giant will be able to fulfil the demands of its users with video needs. “Whether you prefer to edit footage like a pro or just want intelligent, multitasking lenses to do the heavy lifting for you, the Samsung Galaxy will be more than ready to meet the demands of the video-obsessed in 2021. When it comes to advancement in this space, it’s going to be an epic new year,” said Roh.

The press note ends with, “Thank you to everyone who supported us in 2020. I look forward to sharing more in January!” corroborating the rumour that Samsung may launch its Galaxy S21 series of smartphones on January 14, 2021.
